REC Solar Panels
REC Solar is one of the largest photovoltaic installation companies in the nation. They are a subdivision of Renewable Energy Corporation, which has operations in Norway, Singapore, and the United States. REC was founded in 1997 by Judy Ledford and Greg Sisson. They have been ranked as one of the top solar system installation companies in California by the California Energy Commission., with engineers certified by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners.
REC has already installed several million watts of solar power in the states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, New Jersey and Oregon, and wants to make solar electric part of the mainstream energy supply. They are publicly involved in the communities in which they operate.
REC offers free analysis, solar panels that are custom made for homes and business, experienced installers, and internet monitoring of the systems. They offer up front state incentives or rebates and federal tax credits to reduce the cost of the product. Another option is to have a companion company, Sunrun, pay for and own the solar equipment, giving the consumer the benefit of using solar electricity at a reduced cost.
The solar panels offered by REC Solar are favorable for low light conditions. They have Sunarc antireflective treatment that increases energy production. They are reported to be sturdier and able to withstand heavier wind and snow conditions. They have no moving parts, so they run silently and are almost free from maintenance by the consumer. Technical support and advice are available from the company.
REC Solar panels can be grid tied, which means that any energy in excess of what a business or household needs will be added to the utility grid. They have a warranty for the first 10 years at 90% output and for 25% years at 80% output.
